  • Surface Preparation: Prepare vehicle surfaces through sanding, masking, and priming to achieve a smooth and clean foundation for painting.
  • Sanding and Filling: Utilize sandpaper and other tools to smooth out imperfections, applying filler as needed to address dents, scratches, or other damages.
  • Masking: Skillfully mask off areas that should not be painted, demonstrating attention to detail to avoid overspray.
  • Priming: Apply the appropriate primer to ensure proper adhesion of the paint and enhance the overall finish.
  • Color Matching: Assist in color matching processes to achieve the desired paint color, matching the vehicle’s original or specified color code.
  • Quality Control: Inspect prepared surfaces for imperfections, ensuring that vehicles meet quality standards for the painting process.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Keep the work area clean and well-maintained, including cleaning tools and equipment used in the prepping process.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including painters and technicians, to ensure a seamless workflow.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in auto body prepping is a plus.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), and background check.
  • Valid Drivers License

Body Shop Technician

Technician

Jaguar Land Rover Gulf Coast is looking to add an experienced Technician to the team that meets the following criteria:

  • Complete preventative maintenance such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation, and changes, wheel balancing, and replacing filters.
  • Maintain functional vehicle condition by listening to customer complaints and reviewing service advisor notes, conducting inspections, repairing engine failures, repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions, replacing parts and components, and repairing body damage.
  • Verify vehicle service is satisfactory by conducting test drives post-repair and/or maintenance.
  • Maintain vehicle records by recording service and repairs in the Dealertrack DMS and third-party sites.
  • Keep shop equipment in pristine condition by following operating and safety instructions.
  • Update job and product knowledge as required by the manufacturer.
  • Communicate professionally and provide updates on customer repairs as needed to service advisors and the parts department
